44th Rolex Middle Sea Race – Malta – 18-28 October
Saturday 28th October 2023. It remains one of the most demanding and famous races in the Mediterranean. Organised by the Royal Malta Yacht Club, the Rolex Middle Sea Race, a 606 nautical mile challenge between Malta and Sicily, attracted an impressive 110 boats manned by no fewer than 1,000 sailors from 25 nationalities. Faced with challenging changeable conditions, competitors had to negotiate variations in wind direction and strength throughout the course.
After 2 days 12 hours 50 minutes 56 seconds of racing Joost Schuijff’s Farr 100 Leopard 3 from Yacht Club de Monaco won the event in the monohull category (Monohull Line Honours). It’s the fourth time Leopard 3 has competed in the Rolex Middle Sea Race and the third time the boat’s been the first to cross the finish in real time.
