45th Régates Royales de Cannes – 23-30 September
Saturday 30th September 2023. After the 16th Monaco Classic Week-La Belle Classe, the classic yacht fleet headed west for the 45th Régates Royales de Cannes. More than 120 competitors dropped anchor on the Croisette including Yacht Club de Monaco’s flagship, the gaff cutter Tuiga, in the Big Boat category. The 15M IR and crew of enthusiastic members won the meeting hands down. In the same category Carlo Falcone, also from YCM, on Mariella pulled off a hard earned 5th place. In the Classic Racers, Bart Weduwer (Encounter) came 3rd ahead of Massimiliano Ferruzzi on Il Moro di Venezia 4th. In the Vintage Gaff, Kostia Belkin was 6th on his Viola while in the Classic Yacht group YCM’s Argynnes III was 11th. There’s no rest for the Monaco fleet as they continue west to participate in Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.
