After a pause of several months due the health crisis, 32 Smeralda sailors on six boats were back out on the water this weekend in Italy for the second stage of their season (should have been the fifth). Strong winds on the Friday gusting up to 40 knots, and an average of 12 knots for the weekend saw eight races completed.
In the absence of Charles de Bourbon des Deux-Siciles and his crew on Vamos Mi Amor, Timofey Sukhotin’s team on Beda swept the board winning seven of the eight races to win this Coppa Europa ahead of Francesco Vauban (Botta Dritta) and Nicolo Stimamiglio (Black Star).
This being their second win in a row consolidates Beda’s position at the top of the provisional ranking for the season.
