New generation on winning form

League Cup – Martigues 

Sunday 26^th September. The weather did not want to play ball at the weekend of this southern France league cup regatta (Coupe de la Ligue Sud), forcing 161 contestants to deal with capricious conditions at the Berre lagoon. Twelve young sailors from the Sports Section made the trip to compete in four classes.  

In the youngest group, Matteo Asscher finished at the foot of the podium with a hard-fought 4^th place against a 69-strong fleet of Optimists. Alexandre Pompée was 26^th and Ludovica Bonelli 39^th. 

After many years shining in the Optimist class, Noah Garcia has embraced his role of outsider with brio to pull off 6^th place in the ILCA 4 ranking, an excellent performance for his first regatta on Lasers. In the same category, Mathis Duplomb won the event and continues to improve. 

In ILCA 6, Bodhi van Der Linden finished 4^th ahead of Leo Boisvert in 6^th. In the Nacra 15, the Luca Frederiksen/François Lamy pairing raised the YCM’s colours high with a superb 2^nd place. Julian Choquenet and Louise De Beaumont came 7^th, ahead of Namu van Der Linden and Ariadni Verevis in 10^th.
