The ‘Pirate Blanc’ initiative disembarks this afternoon at 5.00pm in front of the Yacht Club de Monaco as part of the ‘Les Voiles Blanches-Bettimask’ operation to collect new toys for hospitalised children in the region. The collection is being made in a highly original way – in a sailing boat called Skaf! More than 800 toys have already been donated from around 30 marinas on the Côte d’Azur in just two weeks. Children in hospital can follow the daily adventures on a YouTube channel (Voiles blanches bettimask) of the “white pirate” who will be dressed in a costume, designed and made specially for the occasion by teams at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, until Sunday morning when the boat passes in front of the Fondation Lenval. Ambassadors of this worthy initiative include Stephane Bern, Maud Fontenoy, Pierre Frolla, Louis Ducruet, Yvan Griboval, Hassan de Monaco and Monegasque artist Olivia Dorato.
