Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series – Act III

6-9 February 2025

The action returns to Monaco’s bay for Act III of the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series, a must-attend event on the one-design racing calendar. Since 2013, this winter circuit, organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco, has been attracting top international crews every month from November to March. As the 12th edition heads towards its grand finale, tension is mounting on the racecourse. The J/70 class, the event’s flagship fleet once again promises to keep sailing enthusiasts on the edge of their seats with around forty entries. This time, however, the spotlight will also shine on the ClubSwan 28 and Cape 31 classes, both using the event to fine-tune their setups ahead of the highly anticipated Primo Cup – UBS Trophy (6–9 March 2025)..

Battle for the top spot

Monegasque crews, living up to their reputation, have dominated since the start of the season. Stefano Roberti (Piccinina), a solid leader overall after two acts, is determined to maintain his position at the top of the podium. But the battle is far from over. Hot on his heels are Pierrik Devic (Raph Seven Yacht), Graeme Peterson (Moonlight), and Matteo Scandolera (Irruenza), all eager to seize any opportunity. As the season reaches its halfway mark, every race counts for title contenders. One misstep could turn the standings upside down.

A high-caliber international fleet

While Monaco’s red and white colors lead the fleet, international teams are far from conceding. Crews from Switzerland, Hungary, Sweden, Ireland, France, Germany, and Italy are set to challenge the favorites in conditions that promise to be both demanding and exhilarating. For these teams, the objective is clear: to shine on a racecourse that tests both technical skills and tactical acumen—and to disrupt the established order. Young talents and seasoned skippers are gearing up for the challenge, and surprises are certainly on the cards in this distinctly European stage.

The action kicks off on Friday 7 February at 12:00 pm, with the first warning signal marking the start of the competition. Crews will need to deliver consistently strong performances if they hope to stand out.
