Smeralda 888 – Corsica Cup – Calvi | 3-5 June

 

Sunday 5th June 2022. For three days the Smeralda 888 fleet raced in Calvi at the Corsica Cup, the fourth stage in their calendar. After five races, Class President, Charles de Bourbon des Deux Siciles (Vamos mi Amor) stood on the top step of the podium, ahead of Timofey Sukhotin (Beda). Emmanuel Santelli (Quasimodo Calvi), Jean Rodelato (Monaco Plaisir Show Lapin), Francesco Vauban (Botta Dritta), Smeralda 5 Young Team comprising a team of youngsters from the Sports Section and Paolo Rotelli (Black Star) completed the ranking.

All about sharing a passion

Also competing was YCM’s flagship Tuiga whose crew did not hesitate to welcome a number of Calvi sailors to experience what it is like to race on one of the last 15M IR yachts still sailing in the world. It was all about sharing and passion as reflected in Yacht Club de Monaco’s values. Note, too, the presence of an Optimist team from Monaco, tacking alongside Corsican sailors. This event embodies the Club’s spirit to perfection as it involved the younger generation and members who are passionate about sailing.
