Les Dames de Saint-Tropez | 29-30 April 2023
Sunday 30th April 2023. First regatta of the season and first victory for the crew on Tuiga helmed by Anne Rodelato who won the cup at the 11th Dames de Saint-Tropez. Organised by the SNST (Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez) sailing club the regatta is unique as only women take the helm.
Around 20 classic sailing yachts descended on Saint-Tropez for the event, the patron this year being Aloïse Retornaz. Olympic bronze medallist in the 470 in Tokyo, the Breton was on Yacht Club de Monaco’s flagship. “I’d like to thank the crew on Tuiga who were fantastic. It was a great honour for me to be godmother of this event,” said the sailor who is in mid-preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Double participation
Alongside Tuiga who won in real and corrected time after a lovely race in a 10-knot easterly in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, was YCM’s other classic, the Bermudan gaff Argynne III designed by Eugene Cornu which finished 7th. Tuiga will head north for the season’s second big event, 10-25 June in England.
