Coaching the next generation 

Optimist Coach Regatta Marseille – 5^th edition – 22-23 January 2022 

Sunday 23^rd January 2022. No downtime for Yacht Club de Monaco’s youngest racers who were back out competing this weekend after finishing 7^th a few days ago in the Monaco Optimist Team Race.

It was all happening in Marseille where the 5^th Optimist Coach Regatta Marseille was an opportunity for 150 young athletes to improve their skills with two days of training sessions held in the form of a regatta, where coaches are allowed to encourage and advise their charges during races. The format is similar to the Monaco Optimist and Laser Academy held in November in the Principality.

In the Elite group, there were eight races. Ludovica Bonelli came 38^th ahead of Alexandra Santelli in 45^th who also clinched 1^st place in the Benjamin (12-13 year-olds) category. Matteo Asscher finished 46^th.

In the Espoir group, Roman Lampert came 41^st after seven races.
