Optimist – League Cup Final – Martigues

Sunday 11^th June 2023. There was dinghy sailing on the Etang de Berre in Martigues for the grand finale of the League Cup. Over 400 young sailors crowded onto the race area for this meeting organised by the Ligue Sud de Voile. Yacht Club de Monaco’s Sports Section were well represented with nine Optimist racers, most of whom are in the first year of the older Minime category (age 13-15). Four races were completed during two days of racing with winds oscillating between 2 and 12 knots.  Alexandra Santelli and Frederik Holst came 25^th and 30^th, Océane Schroeder and Roman Lampert 46^th and 48^th out of 75 competitors. In the Benjamin group, Facundo Rubinelli finished a well-deserved 10^th place, followed by Louis Pompée 22^nd, Victor Holst 34^th, Mona Benchekroun 37^th and Anastasia Verpeka Dolling 39^th.
