Throughout the lock-down, the Yacht Club de Monaco’s young sailors in the Sports Section, competing in the Optimist, Laser and Nacra 15 classes, have been taking part in virtual training sessions organised by their coaches. Rules of racing (explanations and real life scenarios), weather, strategy projects, starts, etc. are all topics tackled every week by the team supervising the Competition Division.

The idea of these “Classrooms” is to help them keep focused, maintain the momentum and have regular contact with their coaches. They also continue to benefit from mental preparation sessions with the sophrologist and keep fit with bespoke programmes of exercises to do at home. The initiative is proving very successful as none of them have missed a single meeting yet!
