Russian New Year 2020

 

500 guests descended on the Yacht Club de Monaco Friday 10th January for the now traditional Russian New Year, a few days before the Orthodox Calendar officially celebrates it on the 13th.

 

 

Launched 16 years ago, this always highly anticipated event attracts members and their guests from all over the world. The party symbolises the YCM’s international character as evidenced by the outstanding musicians present.

Muscovite pop group Fabrika, Russian singer Elena Temnikova, British singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor and hugely popular DJ Martin Solveig ramped up the tempo as midnight approached and the Russian community had their chance to welcome in the new year.

 

 

It was on the upper deck of the Clubhouse with its panoramic view of the Rock and YCM Marina that guests danced the night away after enjoying a traditional menu devised by Chef Evgeniy Kuznetsov that included caviar, piroshkis and Pavlova… washed down with Beluga vodka, partner of the event alongside FxPro, Russian Day and Gold Water.

All the finest ingredients combined to ensure another successful evening.

And events continue at the Yacht Club de Monaco between exclusive parties and high-level regattas like the 11th Monaco Optimist Team Race which has attracted 19 nations and ends Sunday evening.
