Sir Ernst Expedition
Sir Ernst is slowly approaching Punta Del Este and we’ll reach it for sure by Wednesday morning. She’s been on port tack for 1,500 nautical miles. Yesterday an auspicious bird gave us a sign.
A black-browed albatross came to greet Sir Ernst, swooping around us majestically, signifying that the gates to the “deep south” are not far away.
Monaco’s Rock and the Sanary clock tower are far behind and we are now closer than ever to our goal, Marguerite Bay. To celebrate we shared a dolphin fish with this offshore bird. He got the head, we the tail!
The dream is gradually taking shape, but the best and the hardest bit is yet to come. Motto of the day on board: “The dream is already to be on route!” Gaston Rébuffat.
