Oktoberfest
October 2022: Ein Prosit
More than a tradition, Oktoberfest at the Yacht Club de Monaco has become an institution. In an ambiance worthy of the Bavarian brasseries, this party is organised by members from the German community and every year brings together 500 beer fans, the ladies festive in Dirndl dresses, the men in Lederhose.
Instigated by Anne-Marie Winkler and Laila Schlereth, supported by many other members of the active German community, the YCM is transformed into a big brasserie decked out in the white and blue colours of the Bavarian flag.

A sustainable ecosystem approach for a positive impact
Organised by Monaco Marina Management (M3), the one-day Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous gathered key players in the sector, investors, developers, industrialists and innovators to promote development of eco-responsible marinas that are efficient, attractive and lively places where people want to be. The day focused on high-level discussions between decision-makers in the marina ecosystem, keen to invest in innovative solutions that meet their environmental and business challenges. The spotlight was on the most promising and most innovative solutions to encourage their take-up by the sector. Supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the event was hosted by Yacht Club de Monaco, a platform for promoting and exchanging views on initiatives in favour of an eco-responsible approach to yachting, at sea and ashore.

YCM Explorer Awards
March 2023
YCM Explorer Awards by La Belle Classe Superyachts recognise owners who take their environmental responsibilities seriously. They are presented by the Club’s President, HSH Prince Albert II, at the end of a one-day Environmental Symposium, organised by the YCM during Monaco Ocean Week in March.
The major criteria for these awards are the owner’s conception of their superyacht, how they use it and what it can do for humanity. It could be a technical innovation that significantly reduces the yacht’s CO2 emissions, the assistance given to scientists, or just an ability to pass on and share adventures at sea so that many more people come to respect, love and protect the Ocean. These men and women are tomorrow’s explorers and all perpetuate the YCM’s ‘Art de Vivre la Mer’ philosophy which is at the heart of the Club’s core values.
