As lock-down restrictions are being gradually lifted across the board, young racers at the Yacht Club de Monaco continue to compete in online contests organised on Virtual Regatta. The regular meetings are a great way for everyone to improve their tactical skills and racing knowledge.
In total, 18 were to be found behind their screens, keyboards at the ready, on Sunday 10th May for another event, this time in a Team Race format. Six teams lined up, each representing Laser, Nacra 15, J/70, Optimist and the Monaco Sport Academy.
In the Round Robin qualifier, the MSA team dominated with a run of five wins. The youngest on Optimists were not to be outdone as they came a worthy 2nd. The grand finale held a few hours later saw victory again go to the Monaco Sport Academy team comprising Jérémy Moutout, Juan Casalone and Thomas Mangano. Congratulations also to Matteo Asscher, Namu van Der Linden and Julian Choquenet for their excellent 2nd place in this new online competition.
