Thursday 4th June. The Yacht Club de Monaco’s much loved flagship will be back on the water this weekend with nine training sessions planned between now and the end of August. Saturday 6th June will be the first day sails are hoisted on the gaff cutter and the crew is inviting others who wish to sail on her to join them, limited to 20 people per sailing.
Health measures will be scrupulously respected with crew movements carefully supervised and alcohol-based hand sanitisers available. Everyone is required to wear a mask (their own personal one if possible) and bring their own bottle of water to reduce usage of single-use plastic bottles on board.
A legendary boat which has seen many a big-name sailor at the helm such as Eric Tabarly, Tuiga is one of four surviving 15M IR yachts still sailing in the world. If you want to experience what it was like to race over a century ago, contact the crew at the following address: tuiga@ycm.mc
