British Classic Week – Cowes  16-23 July 2021

 

Friday 23rd July 2021. The famous Cowes race area hosted around 50 classic boats for the 20th British Classic Week, with six races organised by the Royal Yacht Squadron.

Capricious conditions in the Solent meant the suspense held throughout the meeting, with the Race Committee managing to complete the programme.

The coveted British Classic Yacht Club Trophy was won by Yacht Club de Monaco member, Lord Laidlaw, who also clinched victory in the Class 1 category. Last year at the YCM Awards in December, Lord Laidlaw was also voted Sailor of the Year 2020 for his achievements that year.
