Monaco Tagging Tournament 23-25 July 2021
Sunday 25th July 2021. Organised in Monegasque waters, the 3rd Monaco Tagging Tournament has just ended after three intense days that saw 150 participants in a friendly competition, the main purpose of which was to catch, tag and release species, including bluefin tuna. A total of 38 fish were tagged as a result of their efforts.
Five YCM members were taking part including Leopoldo Seralvo on Snipe II who finished 4th in the overall ranking with five bluefin tuna on the counter. Hélène Prat on Semabhel IV walked away with the ladies prize having caught and released a 104cm long bluefin. It was a very successful event, according to Guillaume Benoit, Vice-President of the Fédération de Pêche en Mer de Monaco: “It really adds value to our tagging programme, a success for our battle to protect and preserve the environment”.
