A fine catch (and release) 

Monaco Tagging Tournament 23-25 July 2021

Sunday 25^th July 2021. Organised in Monegasque waters, the 3^rd Monaco Tagging Tournament has just ended after three intense days that saw 150 participants in a friendly competition, the main purpose of which was to catch, tag and release species, including bluefin tuna. A total of 38 fish were tagged as a result of their efforts.

Five YCM members were taking part including Leopoldo Seralvo on Snipe II who finished 4^th in the overall ranking with five bluefin tuna on the counter. Hélène Prat on Semabhel IV walked away with the ladies prize having caught and released a 104cm long bluefin. It was a very successful event, according to Guillaume Benoit, Vice-President of the Fédération de Pêche en Mer de Monaco:  “It really adds value to our tagging programme, a success for our battle to protect and preserve the environment”.
