44cup Alcaidesa Marina – Spain 18-22 October
Sunday 22nd October 2023. Mathematically, there was everything to play for before the last day for the top six in the ranking. The 44Cup Alcaidesa Marina, fourth and penultimate stage of the RC44 2023 season, more than met the expectations of the nine boats competing. The weather conditions made it easy for the race committee to run nine races over four days with two breezy days and then lighter airs. It was the first 44Cup event to be organised near Gibraltar. Winner of the World Championship 2023 this summer, Nico Poons (Charisma) finished this event in 6th just ahead of Vladimir Proskihin (Team Nika) 7th, followed by Torbjorn Tornqvist (Artemis Racing) in 8th. Teams will meet again in a few weeks’ time for the last regatta in the Canaries, in Calero 22-26 November.
