Palermo-Montecarlo
19-24 August 2022
Since its launch in 2005 on the initiative of Circolo della Vela Sicilia President Angelo Randazzo, the Palermo-Montecarlo quickly established itself as a Mediterranean classic, with its 500nm course that continues to attract a growing number of entrants.
For seasoned sailors like Mauro Pelaschier, Jochen Schümann, Francesco Bruni, Philippe Monnet and Brad Butterworth, four-time America’s Cup winner, it’s a race against the clock to beat the record; for others it is an adventure over several days at nights at sea with family and friends.

Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series
November 2022 - March 2023
In line with the YCM’s sailing policy, having been initiated in the Melges 20 class in 2013 at the instigation of Valentin Zavadnikov, then the J/70s, the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series is a monthly programme of regattas and training weekends for one-design boats from December to March.
It has proved a very successful format with more than 350 sailors coming from across Europe to set up their winter training base in the Principality to prepare for the upcoming season’s big meetings.
For Monegasque teams, this Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series is their qualifier for the J/70 World Championship being organised for the first time by YCM in partnership with FxPro.

Monaco Energy Boat Challenge
3-8 July 2023
Organised since 2014 by the Yacht Club de Monaco, in collaboration with the International Powerboating Federation (UIM) and Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is unique in the world.
More than a century after the first international powerboat meetings were launched in 1904, the YCM is reviving a tradition by leaving the field wide open to innovation and the imaginations of young engineers, working hand in hand with experienced manufacturers. Their goal is to develop alternative propulsion systems, using only clean energy sources to power the yachting of tomorrow. A real technological challenge to meet the energy needs of the leisure boat and shipping industries and the accompanying environmental prerogatives.

In preparation for the Monaco Optimist Team Race, and keen for our young sailors to forge links with those from foreign clubs, the Yacht Club de Monaco launched the Mediterranean Monaco Optimist & Laser Academy in 2017. An original format, it has attracted clubs from all over the world, with nearly a hundred young racers aged under 14.

Monaco Classic Week
13-16 September 2023
This biennial event, which is the first gathering in the world to honour sailing and motor boats, bears witness to the Yacht Club de Monaco’s unfailing attachment to the maritime heritage of sailing. Echoing the first motorboat meetings in 1904, this event is the only one to bring together the most beautiful traditional sailing boats, with vintage motor-yachts and old motorboats, to which a fleet of 12′ Dinghies has been added for four the last editions.

Porto Cervo - Monaco IMA 24H challenge
11-12 September 2022
As entries roll in for September’s Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup (4-10 September 2022), the pinnacle event of the maxi racing calendar, the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, the Yacht Club de Monaco and the International Maxi Association have joined forces to create a new event that owners and crews can use to return their Maxis to the European mainland.
The race format for the Porto Cervo-Monaco IMA 24 Hour Challenge is simple, but unique. Competitors will set sail from Porto Cervo at 11.00am on Sunday, 11 September, the day after the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup has concluded. The course will take the maxis to Monaco, but aside from this is left open.
Prize-giving will be on Monday 12th September 2022 at 7.00pm, an opportunity for owners to see all their crew again in the exclusive private setting of the YCM, before they go back out to sea heading for Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.
Fête de la mer
June 2023
Every year St Peter, the patron saint of fishermen, is celebrated in a day-long festival organised by the YCM in partnership with other Monegasque institutions, including Monaco City Hall, Société Nautique de Monaco (rowing club), Association des Pontons de Monaco (pleasure boats), Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, Oceanographic Museum, Club d’Exploration sous-marine de Monaco (scuba diving), and the Association Monégasque de la Protection de la Nature (Environment Protection Association).
The Port Hercule will once again celebrate the Fête de la Mer during which a large parade will be organised at sea. Sailing, motor, rowing (…), all units are welcome to participate in this event.
